Phoenix Dancong "Honey Orchid Aroma"

Mi Lan Xiang Dancong is named for its natural fusion of honey-like sweetness and elegant orchid fragrance. Historical records note that the mother tree of this variety is over 600 years old, and its finished tea carries a unique aroma reminiscent of baked sweet potato and honeyed nectar intertwined with gentle floral tones — a sensory signature that earned the name Honey Orchid.

Cultivated on high-altitude slopes of Phoenix Mountain, slow growth and cool climate allow tea leaves to accumulate abundant polyphenols and aromatic compounds. Many old-bush trees exceed a hundred years in age, their trunks covered with moss — giving the tea a distinctive cong yun (枞韵): a subtle woody, mossy undertone that reflects mountain terroir.

The dry leaves are tight, glossy, dark brown with golden tips, releasing strong honey aroma when warmed. Brewed liquor is clear yellow-gold, rich yet refreshing. The taste opens sweet and smooth, followed by rising orchid fragrance and persistent throat sweetness. Properly brewed, the tea remains aromatic through many steeps — a hallmark of fine Mi Lan Dancong.
