Description

Jiuqu Hongmei has been crafted for nearly two centuries, but the premium grade stands apart in refinement and purity. Only slender one-bud-two-leaf picks from pre-Qingming harvests are chosen, when rainfall is fresh, temperature soft, and young leaves contain rich amino acids and natural sugars. The result is a tea with elegant aroma, clear sweetness, and exceptional smoothness.

The dry leaves are tighter, finer, more uniform, with jet-black luster and golden tips faintly visible. When brewed, the liquor appears amber-red and luminous, like polished garnet. The fragrance opens with sweet honey and soft floral notes, gradually deepening into red fruit warmth and mellow cocoa undertones. Each infusion reveals new layers, and the returning sweetness (huigan) is persistent and gentle.

Compared with the regular grade, the premium version delivers a cleaner profile, longer aroma endurance, and silkier mouthfeel. It captures the core spirit of Zhejiang black tea — bright, refined, warm — yet with added sweetness and elegance befitting higher material quality.
